Contextual Coloring Books Making An Impact Among The Unreached

Our Create International DTS produced these contextual coloring books as their student project throughout lecture phase. The images depict scenes from Bible stories, in a way relevant to Hindu and Buddhist cultures, and are used while teaching the stories on outreach.

Right now, they are being used in India (Hindu coloring book) and Cambodia (Buddhist coloring book), and getting a delightful response! Coloring allows the children to interact with the images.

Children Coloring as they learn the story from Creation to Christ

Quote from the long-term workers hosting our Create International DTS team in India:

“I just wanted to send a quick email to tell you how blessed we were by the Thailand CIDTS team that came to visit us.

We really appreciated their hard work and good attitude while they were here. I know it must have been tough for them in the heat and with health issues but they really persevered.

I am especially thankful for the coloring book and am thankful that Sarah had the idea to let a DTS outreach work on a resource like that. My wife and I worked on the stories in Hindi and gave some tips about how the art should look for this culture but they really worked hard and made a great resource. We have passed out hundreds of copies and the feedback has been excellent. Often the kids are drawing in the coloring books but their parents will pick it up and read all the stories. It is an excellent way to open doors.”

This coloring book helps children and adults remember the Bible stories, so they can tell them to their friends and family even years later! Better yet, our teams can leave these simple materials with the people.

The CIDTS students designed and printed these booklets for their outreach

Quote from the long-term workers hosting our CIDTS team in India:
“The group also helped us in a few other creative projects: they did 3 murals, helped burn cds of a testimony and “Tirth” (an evangelistic film Create International produced for High Caste Hindus), and passed them out…hosted a showing of “Tirth” at the ashram, designed and distributed cards advertising the Ashram of Light (an evangelistic website created by Create International) and weekly and monthly satsangs (fellowships) at the ashram, facilitated and led a summer camp with about 35 kids for a week, and still had time to learn about contextualization and learn a little Hindi!”

Quote from the long-term workers hosting our CIDTS team in India:

“To be honest we were blown away by this team. You hate to say it but sometimes you count down the days until some teams leave and you can get back to your ‘real work’. But this team was totally the opposite. They were an encouragement and really brought a boost to the work here in Varanasi. And when the time came for them to leave we were honestly sorry that they had to go.

We have enjoyed this immensely and we look forward to continuing to partner with Create in the future and hope to host more Create teams, CIDTS or otherwise.”

Use your creative gifts to bring transformation in the life of Unreached Children

Pray that years from now, these images will still trigger memories of the truth they have been told about God. This is a new and innovative way we are using art to share the Gospel to the unreached!
