20/20 Vision Update – Prayer, Passion for Focused Action!
Our Create teams just returned from a 20/20 vision project in Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) where the Lord is truly moving in a mighty and unprecedented way! There are literally tens of thousands of Buddhists coming to the Lord from both the Rakhine and Bamar ethnic groups. This movement started several years ago as a result of Christian ministry work related to the tsunami, but it has grown exponentially over the past five years. Just one of the networks of this movement have just been confirmed by researchers to have established more than 1500 house churches. Much of t
his movement has gone undetected by the local traditional Myanmar church which has become quite westernized. Please pray that the Lord continues to multiply this movement.
Maps for Prayer and Planning
“Prayer, Passion for Focused Action” was the word that God gave us for 2014. We have been so thrilled with the efforts which our 20/20 Vision Partners have made this year toward this goal. A wonderful new resource to assist our 20/20 Vision partners with prayer and planning, are the “20/20 Vision Maps produced by one of our faithful research and cultural consultant partners. He has worked tirelessly on gathering the research and map graphics for these maps. We have attached to this article just a few of them. People Group Adoptions Milestone
Adoptions of nearly sixty “20/20 Vision Peoples” have been made this year, and many of those are already in the process of production. At present there are only “39” people groups left who
have not been adopted for production. We have included a copy of this list of people we are calling, “The Orphan List”. Please download this list and challenge others to adopt these remaining people groups. We are believing that the Lord is going to lead people to adopt all of the 20/20 Vision list (166 peoples) before the end of 2014. This will mark
a major “milestone” for the 20/20 Vision, and would give us six more years to see all of these peoples receive an indigenous gospel audio-visual. Please pray that we will meet this goal.
As we have been looking at the 20/20 Vision “Orphan List” (Those groups who have not yet been adopted for production), we have noted that all of these groups are located in one of three geographical areas. “North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and South Asia”. The largest number being in South Asia with 24 distinct people groups still needing to be adopted.
We would like to ask you to prayerfully consider adopting one or more of these groups before the end of this year. We realize that several of you have already made adoptions and for this we are very grateful, but would you consider the possibility of adopting one or two more from this “Orphan List”. Perhaps you have already thought of doing this but have not yet communicated it to us. If so, please let us know what your plans are and which additional people groups you would like to adopt.
